Amazing coaches are the key to a safe, fun and successful lesson program!
Julia started riding at age 8 at a lesson barn in Winnipeg, MB. She started her dressage journey when she was 12 and has been competing for close to a decade. Julia trains under Ariana Chia and has experience as a working student training under Tina and Jaime Irwin in Wellington, FL. She started coaching at age 17 teaching summer camps and beginner lessons. Since her coaching debut, she has successfully helped many riders through their first dressage shows and has a passion for developing young riders. She is currently training on her leased horse, Prince, and looks forward to the upcoming show season.
Adrienne (commonly known around the barn as Adi) is from La Salle, Manitoba. She started riding at the age of 2 at a family friend's place and participated in 4-H Horsemanship at age 7. Adi started taking riding lessons at age 12, soon after moving to Sagehill Stables. Since Adi started at Sagehill, she could be found working away at barn chores and assisting in putting miles under saddle on less advanced school horses. If a client is having problems with their horse, Adi always finds time to add them into her training schedule. She also puts miles on other horses that need to gain experience
While specializing in jumping, Adi believes it is important to have a solid foundation on the flat first.
She is working towards achieving an Animal Science Diploma followed by Equine Studies with a focus on nutrition and business management in the equine industry. Additionally, she is looking to go for her Equine Canada Rider Levels.
As for coaching, Adi has an extensive background leading birthday parties and intro programs. As she progressed through the years she started teaching more advanced students.
Adi has a passion for other animals, with a variety of critters at home including birds, fish, dogs, cats, etc. She brought up her filly, Honey, from untouched to having a goal of competing in the hunter and dressage rings in the near future. Before purchasing Honey, she took on a rescue, Parker. She worked with him on trusting people and now thanks to her hard work is a solid school horse mount at Sagehill and excels at taking students over their first fences.
Shannon has been working with horses professionally since 2001, when she did her CHA certification and was a trail guide and coach at Miracle Ranch. Shannon trained horses and worked with problem horses, guided trail rides, coached and ran summer camps. When asked how she got into horses, her story is "a boy broke my heart, a friend took me on a trail ride...I kept going back...that's when I learnt the best therapists have 4 legs. After that I knew I needed to figure out a way to keep horses a big part in my life. I love working with people, especially kids so coaching seemed like a great Fit."
After a break from horses while raising her kids, she is back as a co-head 4-H leader and coach at Sagehill and re-did her CHA certification! She also loves loves loves coaching the Sagehill Drill team with Coach Caleigh! Not only does she coach horse back riding, but she also coaches both her kids hockey teams and her daughters softball team. She is a favorite of students with her incredibly positive attitude and focus on safety and fundamentals. She is also an amazing photogrpaher - you can follow her instagram at @daydreamingmoments

: Léa started riding when she was 11 at a 4U Farms just down the road where I was able to dabble in a little bit of everything and gain experience riding a variety of horses ranging from your stubborn ponies to competitive Reiners.
I moved to Sagehill Stables roughly 3 years ago with my horse Nick and have started focusing more on Dressage, taking lessons with Jaime Hasiuk to further my own riding & knowledge.
Jaime actually recommended I try coaching and I was lucky enough for Sagehill to give me a shot. I love getting to know the students and doing everything I can to help them achieve their equestrian goals!
: Léa is attending the University of Winnipeg for a Bachelor in Business Admin majoring in Accounting. When not at school she's either at her second job as an office manager or hanging around the barn Nick! I’ve known Nick since he was a yearling and owned him for 6 years now! If you ever see him out in the pens he’s quite the cuddle bug!
: Léa's favourite horses at Sagehill include Nick obviously, and Annie!! Annie is an absolute trooper who’s safe but will give new students a run for their money if she gets the chance!
Caleigh is from Winnipeg and started riding as young girl with coach Jaime, who is still one of her coach's today! She started volunteering at the barn at age 12 and worked her way up to becoming a coach. Caleigh came to Sagehill in 2019 where she started working in the barn doing chores, then worked her way up to working summer camps and Intro Programs. Now Caleigh is one of our novice and intermediate coaches. She is a great rider and is currently training with L.J and Starla to get them integrated in our lesson program. Caleigh has also had the opportunity to train under Mackenzie Thiessen and Izzy Biron. Over the past couple of years Caleigh has focused more on dressage, but she still has the knowledge and passion for jumping. She's hoping to attend some MJHA and Dressage Winnipeg shows this summer. Outside of Sagehill she also works as a professional groom and trains horses. Students love Caleigh's calm demeanor and kindness.
Isabel started riding at the age of 9 and has been hooked ever since! Throughout the years, she's spent countless hours at the barn trying to spend as much time with the horses as possible.
It was in 2015 that she found her passion for dressage and decided to pursue it full time. Since then, Isabel has been in lessons with Ariana Chia and has competed up to 4th level in dressage at local competitions with her horse, Roe.
Isabel started teaching at Sagehill Stables in 2021 and is loving it! Her favourite part about teaching is seeing riders progress, and have a great time while doing so! Her lessons mostly consist of a flat work foundation, but she loves throwing in the occasional jump lesson to mix things up.
Outside of riding, Isabel is a student at the University of Manitoba pursuing a career in Criminology.
More often than not, you can find Isabel at the barn either riding or teaching. She's more than happy to help with anything, so don’t be afraid to ask her when you see her around!
Ryder started riding when she was 7 years old, taking English lessons and quickly grew a passion for horses. She has been at Sagehill Stables since 2016 as lesson student and spent many hours volunteering (pretty much calling this her home!) before she started working as a tack-up coach and now riding coach! She spends most of her summers at the barn running summer camps and teach Intro Programs and Children's lessons. Outside of Sagehill she also works as a horse handler for an equine assisted therapy program for kids/adults with disabilities. Rhyder has one horse name Ajericho (A.J. for short)! She currently takes lessons with Jaime Hasiuk to continue improving her coaching and riding skills. Her main goal is to build relationships with students and have fun!
Reily has been riding since a young age and has been at Sagehill Stables for many years helping with the lesson program and riding lesson horses. She has owned her own horse and has much experience taking care of horses. She has a contagious outgoing personality and is loved by all her students. You can find her coaching introductory programs and children's lessons all year round!
Isabelle starting riding at Meadow Green Stables in Winnipeg, MB when she was 9 years old. Her childhood coach, Jaime Hasiuk, taught her the ins-and-outs of the Equestrian Industry, which created her life-long passion for the Equine Sport. In addition to Coach Jaime, Isabelle has had the opportunity to train under many great coaches
such as Mackenzie Thiessen & Bennett Murphy. With lots of Equine Volunteer experience under her belt, Isabelle secured her first job as a Barn Chore staff member at Sagehill Stables back in 2017. She advanced from barn chores to coaching lessons year-round, and, in the Summers, running Sagehill’s Summer Horse Camps! Isabelle has ample experience coaching all sorts of experience levels, at a large variety of age
groups. Generally, Isabelle tends to coach Sagehill’s Intermediate Students, where she can safely and tactfully take her students through their first canters and jumps ensuring
a positive experience for all! She is loved by her students for her positive, professional, and calm demeanor.
Outside of the barn, Isabelle has completed 2 years’ worth of Nursing Perquisites at the University of Manitoba. She has just recently accepted her offer of admission to the
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at the University of Manitoba for her high academic standing. After graduation, and obtaining her R.N. designation, she would
love to specialize in the field of Pediatric Nursing!
