The Equestrian Development Program (EDP) is our regular weekly riding lesson program for for students ages 8 to 70+ who have completed the Introductory Riding Program OR who have experience taking lessons.
Our diverse team of coaches with expertise in primarily English & some Western disciplines are committed to teaching our students to ride and work safely with horses. All of our lesson programs are designed to teach the foundations of safety and animal welfare so that students have the necessary knowledge to continue with any horse-related endeavors including leasing or owning a horse someday!
Sagehill students are encouraged to pursue their riding dreams whether it be getting on the trails, over fences or over fears. From winning in the show ring or completing Equine Canada Riding levels, let us know what your goals are and we will help to get you there!

Skill Levels & Streams
Skill levels in the Equestrian Development program include beginner, novice, intermediate and advanced. Once you've completed the required beginner skillsets, you can choose from a variety of streams including:

Session Packages
- Spring Session 2026 at Miracle Ranch: 10 lesson package
- We will be registering students in 10 lesson COURSES for spring session
- Lessons start the week of April 13th and go until the week of June 14th
- How to register? Send in your $380 deposit via etransfer to [email protected], include a note on what coach days you'd like to book and whether you'd like group, semi or private lessons. We will register for you!
- OR find your course/coach/day/time on ECPro and register yourself with a payment plan
- For all packages of 10 lessons purchased, students will receive a free Fun Event token! Use it this spring or anytime during the spring session
- We have also brought back the client appreciation discount!
- Group lessons: $380 deposit for school horse fees + 3 payments of $174.33 due April 13th, May 1 and June 1 (covers lessons and GST)
- Semi-private lessons: $380 deposit for school horse fees + 3 payments of $226.83 due April 13th, May 1 and June 1 (covers lessons and GST)
- Private lessons: $380 deposit for school horse fees + 3 payments of $279.33 due April 13th, May 1 and June 1 (covers lessons and GST)
- Students under age of 8 please see the group and private lessons available in the Parent & Me Program page
- Boarders should get a discount when purchasing courses (no deposit required if using your own horse) - if you don't see a discount applied at the checkout, please contact us

Please note important changes to our barn rules and price lists due to our move to Miracle Ranch (links below)
**Leasing: note that students interested in leasing a horse will see monthly payment fee increase by approximately $152.75/month (+GST) for a 1/4 lease on Sagehill lesson horse (6 horse uses per month typically 4 lessons and 2 practice rides). See our leasing page for more info! Leasers will be billed separately for their additional lease fees spring 2026.
***Riding the same horse lesson lease: $15/lesson horse lease fee available to ride the same horse in each lesson without committing to a lease. Please contact the office for this add-on. More details on leasing are on the EDP registration page
