Summer 2024 Fun Event Listings
Fun event packages for summer 2024 can be purchased in a package of 4 from Equine Office. This gives a ticket to 4 different fun events. If students want to do more than 4 events, they can purchase 2 packages!
Price for summer EDP students (and boarders): $50/event + GST
Price for those not taking lessons this summer: Package of 4 available for $320 + GST

Trail Ride Lessons with Coach Adi!
Hit the trails around Sagehill with coach Adi. Dates are weather dependent. Trail rides will be walking only. Trail ride lessons are about getting comfortable with horses outside of the arena, learning trail safety and how to read horse behavior.
Qualifications: Students must be at an novice to intermediate level that has learned to or is starting to learn to canter. Horses may canter (by accident) on the trail and students need to comfortable if this happens for safety.
Dates: we will tentatively have a group going out weekly on either Thursdays and Saturdays, weather dependent
Cowboy Challenge with Coach Amanda!
Riding English or western and experience the cowboy challenge obstacle course. This is a three-part experience. The first event is learning to get your horse used to the obstacles from the ground, going over side-passing and other useful ground work techniques, as well as going over the rules and history of the Cowboy Challenge event. Part 2 is practicing the obstacle course under saddle with the coach. Part 3 is the timed challenge! We will have a timed competition complete with ribbons for the winners. Depending on registrations, we may group riders into levels for placings (i.e. novice, intermediate and advanced.
Qualifications: For Novice, Intermediate and Advanced students. Students must be capable of catching their own horse and tacking up for this event.

Jump Nights with Coach Sam
Practice over a course with our EC certified coach Sam. Jump night spots are limited to 15 students per night, so sign up quickly to ensure your spot.
Qualifications: students must be at an intermediate or advanced level to join jump night
Dates: Tuesday evenings
Dressage Test Practice with Coach Caleigh:
Practice your dressage test with Coach Caleigh! Interested in getting some feedback on your dressage test, or just want to practice and enjoy time with others interested in this discipline? This will be a 2-part event. Part 1 goes over the basics of dressage, the difference between some of the gaits and things the judges are looking for on tests, and doing some practice runs! Part 2 is doing a an actual test in competition with feedback and ribbons for placings!
Qualifications: novice, intermediate or advanced students. Students must be capable of tacking up their own horse!
Dates: July 24th and 31st and August 21st and 28th
Gymkhana with Coach Sam:
This is a 2 part event! Part 1 will include practicing techniques for training for barrels and poles, including some drills and practice runs. Part 2 will include running the timed events, including ribbons for the winners! We suggest that students try this event in a Western Saddle.
Qualifications: novice intermediate or advanced students
Dates: tentatively Wednesday July 10th and 17th at 7:30pm, and again Wednesday August 7 and 14th at 7:30pm
Games and Fun Nights with Coach Shannon:
Join us for a fun night of games! This is event is open to beginner to advanced students. Assisted tack-up will be provided. Depending on the number of participants, students may be sharing horses for this event or we may add a second coach!
Qualifications: Beginner to advanced students welcome, tack-up assistance will be provided.
Dates: 4 dates in July and August! Monday July 8th and 22nd, August 12th and 19th at 7pm! Need at least 3 students to run this event
Ladies Night!
Join coach Shannon for ladies night! Bring a friend to introduce them horses or come on your own, do some riding with planned games, and socializing afterwards! Nights will be themed! Ladies only, music, mocktails, snacks and hanging out in the fire shack after included! Ladies night can be used as a ticket in your summer fun event package OR boarders and leasers can purchase this separately if you are using your own horse and/or a practice ride.
Qualifications: Beginner to advanced adult ladies welcome. Depending on registrations, we may share horses or have a second coach attend. Tack-up assistance will be provided.
Dates: Monday July 16th at 7:30pm and Tuesday September 3rd at 7pm (come for 30 minutes early to tack-up)
Drill Team: Drill team is running over summer 2024, but is not included in the Fun Events package and must be purchased separately. See the Drill Team page here
Birds Hill Park Learn to Show Off-Property Event: We are hoping to run the Birds Hill Park Learn to Show event the weekend of August 24th and 25th! This year will includes both lessons on Saturday and a schooling show on Sunday! Click here for updated event info. Cost is expected to be approximately $380+GST for the weekend for students using a schoolie for the 2-day experience.
