Katmah Training
“Riding horses builds not only physical skills such as hand-eye coordination, strength, and balance. Riding also creates confidence, enhances communication skills and intuition, and emotional maturity in young athletes. At every level it is an activity or sport that requires dedication, continuous learning, and leadership; which are invaluable skills to develop at any age."
Horseback riding requires not only the physical ability to ride, but the mental capacity to work alongside and understand the behavior of the majestic horses that have captivated our hearts.
These skills often come hand in hand; as physical skills improve, confidence around horses and in the saddle follows. These skills can also apply to and help improve other areas of activity and communication in our daily lives.
Whether you are a:
Competitive Equestrian,
OR New to horses,
OR Getting back in the saddle after a long break,
OR Just looking for new ways to improve your health and lifestyle.
Katmah training is here for you!
This is a co-ordinated program that specializes in helping individuals of all ages and abilities to understand their body movement in order to improve their health and wellbeing.

- For Non-Competitive Riders : ► The educational programs and activities are designed to keep you riding longer, eliminate pain and improve your body movement. From rider biomechanics to exercise classes for all ages and abilities, you will be the living proof of the health and lifestyle benefits of horseback riding.
- For Competitive Riders: ► There is a unique and holistic perspective to these equestrian training programs. Through completing her BSc. at the University of Winnipeg, Kathlyn found that although riding was a competitive sport, most equestrian athletes were not training like other sport athletes do. Equestrian athlete development often overlooked the importance of rider health and fitness, with much of the focus placed primarily on the horse. These programs can change that oversight.
Kathlyn designed her programs to give riders a new perspective:
- How training like the athletes we can reach new heights for both the horse and rider.
- Using an integrative approach with aspects from the field of kinesiology, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, and injury prevention, riders will learn how improving themselves can help to improve their ride and placing in the show ring.
