OUR VISION
Sagehill Stables wants to share the healing power of horses with our community and use our location in Winnipeg to impact as many people as possible. Our motto Ride-Learn-Heal embodies the key areas we focus on to improve physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Whether it is through the power of equestrian sport and youth activities, educational opportunities for developing leadership skills and improving horse welfare, or activities designed to heal and promote reconciliation, we want to be able to provide our community members with affordable opportunities to have horses in their lives.
Humans have evolved with horses for over 5000 years, and only recently in the past 100 years have horses disappeared from most peoples lives, creating a disconnect from our past way of life. Horses had a profound impact on who we are today and how our communities were developed. We believe that a key component to improving our communities mental, physical and emotional wellbeing is to bring back the opportunity to connect with horses. Our team ensures all our programming meets our core values of safety, growth, leadership, fun, compassion and community.
Sagehill Stables doesn’t just provide riding lessons and summer camps. It is home to a 4-H Club, the Spirit Horse Project, and the Young Leaders volunteer and Coach Development programs. We have certified facilitators to provide healing with horses and leadership and confidence building programming. We also provide horse care educational events to promote horse welfare for other horse owners in our community.

CORE VALUES
Safety
Our top priority is safety, reflecting our commitment to the well-being of humans and animals. This is achieved through providing comprehensive education and teaching proper horse handling and safety protocols.
Growth
We believe in the importance of lifelong learning to become better teachers, riders, students, animal caregivers, and friends. This journey involves overcoming challenges, fostering a strong work ethic, setting goals, and holding ourselves accountable to progress with responsibility.

Horses possess a unique capacity for teaching leadership and instilling confidence. We believe fostering a positive learning environment empowers individuals to develop their skills and confidence. This ultimately inspires others to lead by example and nurture future leaders and coaches.
Fun
We embrace the passion of horses, creating an atmosphere where lasting memories are made.
Compassion
Prioritizing animal welfare is important to all Sagehill team members. This involves advocating for their well-being with kindness and care, and promoting a culture of respect and empathy among staff and riders towards horses and each other. This includes ensuring the respect of horses, people, property, and equipment, and carrying out handling and training practices accordingly.
