Ash
​'Judge Me Now'

​Ash is a 2016 OTTB mare standing at 16.2 hands and owned by one of our lovely boarders. Currently part of the Sagehill Show team, she is available for lease or purchase. Before arriving in Manitoba, Ash competed successfully in Ontario in the hacks. Since relocating to Manitoba, she has continued to shine in the Hunter and Equitation rings, competing through 2'6" with a junior rider. Ash is now looking for her next advanced rider to continue her journey in the Hunter or Jumper ring!

Boots

Boots is a bay Quarter Horse gelding in his early twenties with a wealth of experience across disciplines including English, Western, cattle work, and reining. A true schoolmaster, he's a patient and reliable teacher for our intro and novice riders, helping them build confidence, understand horse behavior, and develop key skills in horsemanship. This handsome guy has won the hearts of many students and earned a top teacher award voted on by our students.

Captain

Captain is is the leader of our driving team and a handsome Clydesdale–Thoroughbred cross. With his gentle nature and quiet personality, he is a dependable partner both in harness and under saddle. If you don't see him waiting at the fence to greet you, he may be working alongside King pulling the sleigh or wagon. Captain has also recently joined our lesson program, where he's quickly becoming a student favorite as he's an excellent partner for riders looking to build confidence while enjoying their time in the saddle.

Dolly
'Down from Dover'​

Dolly is a chestnut Quarter Horse mare in her mid-teens with a strong work ethic and a forward way of going. Originally trained as a barrel horse, she now excels in both Western and Jump lessons for novice to intermediate riders. She is a former member of the Sagehill Show team, teaching riders the ins and outs of grassroots competition and was 2024 Sr Prairie Crocus Cross Rails Champion! Dolly also loves leading on the outdoor trail!

Elsa

Elsa joined us last summer and has quickly become a favorite around the ranch! This registered Paint miniature may be small in size, but she has a big personality that loves everyone. A star at birthday parties and our Petting Zoo, Elsa is always happy to meet new friends and soak up the attention. Fun fact she can also be driven with a cart, making her a versatile and fun addition to the ranch.

Handsome

If you've taken the intro program at Sagehill, chances are you've met Handsome! This kind and steady gelding is in his late teens and previously worked as a pony horse at the track. Now, he's a patient and reliable teacher perfect for helping new riders build confidence and develop a strong foundation.​

Hazel
​'Witch-hazel'

Hazel came to Sagehill late in the summer of 2024, scared of people and nearly untouchable. Since then, she has blossomed into a school favourite, teaching novice through intermediate lessons both English and Western. She is incredible at teaching the value of connection and trust.

Honey

Honey is a 2018 Quarter Horse Cross who came to Sagehill as an untouched three year old. Since then, Coach Adi has put in tremendous amount of hours to create a well broke favourite around the barn! Honey excels in parent and me classes and all the kids love her blue eye! Honey is starting to progress in her dressage and over fences work as well.

King

King is a valued member of our driving team and a handsome Clydesdale–Thoroughbred cross. Although he can be a little shy when meeting new people, it doesn't take long for his personality to shine through. Once he gets to know you, he's the biggest cuddle bug.
You'll often see King working alongside Captain, pulling our sleigh during the winter months and our wagon throughout the rest of the year. Together, they make a dependable and hardworking team that our guests love to meet! King is working on joining his brother in the lesson program at the end of Summer. He is best suited for flat work, enjoys poles, not a jumping mount due to his late start into lessons.

Koda

Koda is a 2017 Appendix mare who joined Sagehill in August and has quickly became a barn favourite, known for her smooth canter. Koda has taken to jumping with natural talent and enthusiasm, and we're excited to see her in the show ring in 2026!

Legs
'Look Lively'

Legs is a sweet-natured bay Thoroughbred mare in her late teens who has captured the hearts of many at Sagehill. A valued member of our Sagehill Show team, she's proudly helped students earn plenty of red ribbons in the jumper ring!

Lacey

 Lacey is a 16.2-hand bay Warmblood × Quarter Horse mare with a past in dressage and extensive flatwork training. She is well-schooled with plenty of buttons, making her a rewarding ride for a balanced rider looking to refine their skills.
 Lacey came to Miracle Ranch through auction and has since become a lovely addition to our program. She is known for her dreamy, floaty movement and truly shines on the flat. While she has done a small amount of jumping, flatwork is where her training and movement stand out.
 Lacey is available for a ¼ lease and is best suited to a balanced rider looking to further their knowledge and develop their flatwork in partnership with an experienced horse.

Lena
​'Ever so Fun'

Lena is a 2018 bay Thoroughbred and proud member of the Sagehill show team! She is a great horse for advanced riders to learn and grow with. In 2024, Lena was crowned MHJA Combined Hack Champion, and you'll often spot her shining in the hunter-jumper ring during the show season!

Lil

Lil is one of our Ojibwe Spirit ponies who has made a wonderful transition into the lesson program. She's currently taking a well-deserved break as she prepares to welcome her baby!

Marble

Marble is a 15.3-hand mare who came to Miracle Ranch alongside her sisters and brothers from a PMU farm. Now semi-retired, Marble enjoys a slower pace of life while staying active with relaxed trail work to keep her happy and healthy in her golden years. She is a sweet mare who especially enjoys spending time with her sisters and being part of the herd. Marble is a wonderful example of a horse who has given so much and is now enjoying a well-deserved, peaceful chapter at the ranch.

Mandy

Mandy is one of our Ojibwe Spirit ponies who showed great promise in the hunter ring before becoming pregnant this year. She's now enjoying some well-deserved break and we look forward to welcoming her back to the program after she welcomes her baby!

Miley
'Très Magnifique'

Miley is a 2016 OTTB mare who came off the track in 2021. Since then she has competed in the Hunter, Jumper, Equitation and Hack divisions. She has also competed in eventing up through EV 85 successfully, schooling up to 1.20m. Miley is available for lease or sale to an advanced rider looking for a fun, forward moving ride. She has developed into a great hunter-jumper horse!

Parker is in his late teens and is a chestnut Quarter Horse gelding. He is a favourite of many students because he is a patient teacher and jump master!

​'Peppy Le Bleu'

Peppy is a gorgeous blue roan tobiano American Paint Horse mare with a sweet personality and a growing skill set. She is a solid partner on the flat and has started jumping!

P.R.

P.R. (short for Public Relations) is an Appaloosa gelding, a Gem of a school master worth his weight in gold. He is a quiet leader of the herd. He's incredibly sweet natured, great with kids. He can take the smallest kid for a pony ride and is a master at teaching the first canter to any age. Fun fact he was trained in classical dressage. PR is now retired from jumping where he taught many riders there first verticles and courses. Did you know you can call his name and he will come right up to the gate!

Prince

Prince has the most beautiful blue eyes. He is originally from Peguis First Nation and was brought to the St. Norbert area many years ago. From his history, we gather he is in his mid-teens and is a Paint Cross. If he doesn't see you first and nicker hello just call his name he will happily meet you at the gate. Prince is a favorite among the students, it's hard not to fall in love with this handsome boy!

Rocky

Rocky is the beloved pony everyone knows always waiting at the gate ready to greet you! He's called Sagehill Stables home since he was 6 months old and has grown into a talented, forward-moving hunter-jumper! Rocky has successfully evented up to EV85 and is not only a competitive partner but also a dependable companion to our Ojibwe stallion and other horses at shows. Rocky is currently available for lease and is a favourite essential care lease pony! Plus, he is one of coach Sam's favourite equines!

Rue
'Bold North'

Rue is a 2014 grey Thoroughbred known for his calm and steady demeanor. He's a trusted partner in both lessons and therapy programs and excels as a teacher on the flat and over fences. Rue is also a valued member of the Sagehill Show team and was the 2024 Jr Prairie Crocus Champion in both the Cross Rails and 2' divisions!

Smurf

Smurf is a 16-hand Appendix mare in her late teens and a standout teacher for our novice riders. Originally trained in Western disciplines including reining, roping, and cutting, she brings versatility, patience, and a calm, confident presence to every lesson. Smurf is a favourite among students learning to canter and master smooth transitions, making her a fantastic intro to Novice horse.

Shasta

Shasta is a 16-hand Appaloosa gelding in his mid teens. He was not endowed with much tail or mane but is a fun character. He teaches students how to manage emotions and behaviour accordingly, matching his own state to your energy. Overall, he is a great horse to build your confidence with.

Love Cuddles? Then this is your Gal. This gorgeous mare has a sweet personality, and is a favorite with the students, she is a draft-cross in her late teens, Western trained, great on the trails and fun fact she has a vaulting background.

Squiggles

Squiggles is a 2013 OTTB gelding standing at 16.1 hands. This tall goofy boy truly lives up to his name and is an all-around wonderful teacher. He's fantastic with beginners, loves helping riders experience their first jump, and is always ready to step things up for the more advanced riders. Squiggles is very playful with his pasture mates and is usually the first one at the gate to greet you. He absolutely loves food, so feel free to bring him a horse safe treat in a bucket the next time you're around!

​'Mbar Roan Sugar'

Sugar is a 2013 Quarter Horse mare, formerly competing in the 1.10m jumper ring. She is now part of our program and excels at teaching advanced riders the ropes of the jumper ring at shows. She took her leaser to their first show together to 0.75m high point and we look forward to more success with Sugar in the future.

Star
Star! The Sweetest horse you'll ever meet, with a heart just as beautiful as she is. She is an absolute favorite with the kids because of her gentle personality, calm nature, and love for attention. It doesn't take her long to wander over and say hi no matter where she is. With her rider Star's just as happy running barrels as she is taking a quiet, relaxing trail ride. She truly is the kind of horse that leaves a lasting impression with everyone she meets!

Sunday

Sunday is a bay Appendix mare in her mid-teens and is a special horse for many students at Sagehill. She has taught many students their first jump, canter and taken years of students to their first shows. Before Sagehill, she was an eventer. Sunday was a past member of the Sagehill Show team and now brings her vast wealth of knowledge to our intro and novice programs.

Zip is our star of the Zip & Friends program and birthday parties! He has been at Sagehill for over 8 years and is super friendly and easy going.
