What is Drill Team?
Drill Team is a fun "team" activity for equestrians. Although horse back riding is commonly an individual sport, drill team has riders and horses work together to perform choregraphed maneuvers to music. They are intended to entertain, show sportsmanship, horsemanship, teamwork and dedication!
Drill Team runs typically during the winter and summer sessions at Sagehill Stables.
Who can join? Any students at the novice, intermediate and advanced levels. Students do need to be able to catch their horse and tack-up independently.
Summer Session 2025: 6 practices + 1 performance
We are hoping to run both a senior (advanced) and novice drill team this winter! We'd need at least 6 students on each team to make it worthwhile, otherwise the teams will be combined.
Practice time is Monday evenings.
Note: Coaches will make the decision on whether students will be assigned to the novice or senior drill team.
Students in Winter EDP Session:
$52/practice + GST (includes performance) total of $300+GST for boarders or those currently enrolled in the Summer EDP program
$84/practice + GST (includes performance) total of $504+GST for those students not enrolled in Summer Session EDP program
Please note that students have to pay for all 6 practices whether or not they attend.

Login to ECPro, go the Booking Calendar, look for the first Monday of practice which is Monday July 2025. Click on the day. It will take you to the booking page. Scroll down to courses, and click on the package for drill team. If you are not registered in Summer Session, please select the extra fee Add-On for Drill Team and you will be prompted to put down a deposit for your drill team package. Boarders and students already in the summer EDP program won't have to pay anything until the first practice if you select the payment plan option.
