What is Drill Team?
Drill Team is a fun "team" activity for equestrians and can be done if riding English OR Western. Although horse back riding is commonly an individual sport, drill team has riders and horses work together to perform choregraphed maneuvers to music. They are intended to entertain, show sportsmanship, horsemanship, teamwork and dedication!
Drill Team runs typically during the winter and summer sessions at Sagehill Stables.
Who can join? Any students at the novice, intermediate and advanced levels. Students do need to be able to catch their horse and tack-up independently to join Drill Team.
Summer Session 2026: 8 practices + 1 performance
We are hoping to run both a senior (advanced) and novice drill team this summer! We are excited to practice in both the new large outdoor arena and cool bug-free indoor arena. We'd need at least 6 students on each team to make it worthwhile, otherwise the teams will be combined.
Practice time is TBD, but will likely be on Tuesday evenings, with Monday and Wednesday being alternate times.
Note: Coaches will make the decision on whether students will be assigned to the novice or senior drill team.
Just Drill Team Price: $86/practice + GST (includes performance) billed in 2 payments of $361.20+GST for those students not enrolled in Summer Session EDP program (i.e. not in camp or lessons over the summer)
Combo Price: $56/practice + GST (includes performance) total of $235.20+GST for boarders OR those currently enrolled in either the Summer EDP program OR a 4-Private Lesson Special OR a week of Summer Camp
Please note that students have to pay for all 8 practices whether or not they attend, no make-ups will be offered unless the whole class is cancelled due to weather or other issue
