Conveniently located on Waverley Street, 4 km south of the PTH 100 in Winnipeg, we are a 60,000 sq. ft. indoor facility with a large parking area ideal for buses, accessible restrooms, meeting rooms for gatherings of up to 100 people, scenic nature trails with lots of wildlife, and best of all, we have horses!

Learn about horses here in Manitoba, including how they survive the winters and where they live, eat and sleep! Groom a horse and even ride it if you like!  See a demo from one of our skilled coaches and trainers.  Learn about the common North American breeds the Quarter Horse, Appaloosa and Paint, and see them up close!

There is lots do to!  Tours can be custom built for your specific group or outing - contact us for more details!

Senior Tours

The Seniors Group tour includes an in-depth barn tour, grooming our miniature horse Zip and a demo ride from one of our amazing instructors and trainers. Tour buses are also permitted to drive up to the paddocks after the in-barn activities so that the participants can see how the horses live outside from the comfort of their bus!

Priced at $8/person with an $80 minimum.  Tour is typically 1 hr.  Best time for seniors to visit Sagehill Stables is during the spring, summer and fall months as the barn is sometimes a bit chilly for some of our seniors in the winter.

Youth Tours

Youth group tours are great learning activities! Great for any group (not just schools) looking for a learning based experience for ages 8 to 70+.  Great option for larger group birthdays too!

The typical tour consists of 3 learning based stations:
  • Lead-line riding experience (riders are led in-hand, horses of various sizes depending on age of participants)
  • Grooming lesson to get up-close and personal with the horses
  • In-class lesson on horse herd behavior along with a tour of the barn and paddocks to talk about horse breeds and colours and see where the horses live!

The 3-station tour is for a minimum of 10, max 15 participants and is priced at $40/student. Students spend approx. 30 minutes at each  of the 3 stations plus plan for some time for introductions and moving between stations (plan for a 2 hr visit)

The fire shack can be an optional add-on during the tour or after your tour!  Roast marshmallows, hotdogs and hang out in the beautiful oak forest.
