We offer experiential learning sessions using horses as the teachers! Every experiential training session ensures effective skill development that is fun and memorable.
Experiential learning has been termed "the natural way of learning,” and is defined as the process by which the experience of the learner is reflected upon, from which new insights emerge. Instead of having someone tell you what you are doing wrong, the participant realizes for themselves what they need to change about their behavior in order to work with their horse teachers.

Team Building Series
A successful employee possess three main attributes: knowledge, which can be learned; experience, which is gained over time; and skills, which form the foundation for effectively applying both knowledge and experience.
At their core, all skills are interpersonal communications skills, and horses reveal the hidden team dynamics while helping individuals develop these essential skills. Team activities that use horse/human interaction are designed to facilitate problem-solving, encourage cohesive teamwork and serve as a powerful metaphor for the work environment in leadership development.
We offer 1/2 day and 1-day Team Building Workshops, catered to your organizations specific needs. Some activities participants will do include:

Some organizations chose to rent our boardroom for the other 1/2 day for their own activities - please inquire
Prices include snacks and coffee/tea. Lunches can be catered in by the participant/host at their own cost.

Meet the Facilitator
|
Dr. Gwendolyn Donohoe is the owner and manager at Sagehill Stables and also teaches at the University of Manitoba. Gwen holds a PhD in Agriculture and has multiple degrees and certificates including being a Certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator. Gwen is also a mom to a 3-year old girl, Winnifred. Gwen grew up in The Pas, MB on a mixed beef and grain farm and attended University in both Saskatoon and then Winnipeg, where she now calls home.
Gwen has sat on multiple boards including the Manitoba Conservation Districts Association, Manitoba Rural Adaption Council and the Manitoba Horse Council. The experience gained from her education, running a business, teaching University level classes, along with handling multiples challenges as a business owner including COVID-19, fire, drought and floods, has given her a unique perspective on life and much to offer as facilitator of the Team Building and Leadership Development Workshops. |
