For individuals who do not own a horse but are wishing to spend quality time with horses and learn more about these fantastic creatures!
Great for your heart, soul, mental and spiritual wellness.
This opportunity allows you to visit our stables twice a week for 1 hour and spend time with one of our school horses, including grooming, long walks and lots of hugs!
You may look through the list of horses and their personalities on our website (link below) to decide which horse you might best align with! Or try out a few before deciding on your equine soul mate :)

1) Basic Adoption - Basic Adoption means that you will spend quality time in the barn with your horse, including learning about:
-Horse behaviour
-Safety
-Grooming
-Stall care
*An initial consultation is required to go over safety and handling of horses so you feel safe and confident being around your horse. Once you have completed this initial consultation with our horse specialist, and are proficient in these skills, YOU HAVE ADOPTED A HORSE! With this basic adoption level you may visit twice a week to interact, groom, take care of and literally love up your horse!
2) Advanced Adoption
If you're looking for increased interaction and additional skills you may utilize in your bi-weekly visits, like walking and groundwork, you may sign up for additional consultation sessions in any one (or all) of the following:
-Learning how to catch your horse and herd behavior
-Walking your horse in the barn
-Outdoor walks with your horse
- Advanced groundwork

Monthly Adoption Rate
- $99/month + tax (includes 2, 1 hour visits per week)
Yes, that's less than $13.00 per visit!
One time Basic Consultation Session
- $55.00 (1 hour) Mandatory for all clients new to Sagehill Stables. Can be purchased before the adoption fee to try it out first!
Advanced Adoption Consultation Sessions (per skill)
- $35.00 (1 hour) Optional sessions to increase your skill-sets, for those who have adopted a horse
Adoption visiting hours:
Monday to Friday - 11 am to 4 pm and 8 to 9 pm
Weekends: 9am to 11am and 5 to 9 pm
*Please book your dates and times one week in advance.
Ages and Accessibility:
Ages 4* to 70+!
* If a child ages 4 to 8 wishes to adopt a horse, a parent/guardian needs to be present alongside the child for the whole visit. For minors aged 8 - 18, a guardian needs to be present on the property during the visit at all times.
The barn is one level and wheelchair accessible, and some horses are suitable for persons with disabilities (please inquire)
