Outdoor board is intended for those who want their horse outside year round in a healthy and safe herd environment. Outdoor board is for active boarders who recognize the challenges of boarding outside year round and are expected to take active care of their horse depending on the season, such as fly repellent application in the summer and keeping feet free of ice in the winter.

CROSS-OVER
Many horse owners are concerned about the amount of time horses are kept in stalls and the health concerns related to indoor boarding due to conditions such extra exposure to dust and development of behavioral issues such as cribbing. Many in the horse community are promoting outdoor board with group turnout as the best solution to these problems. However, in Manitoba, harsh winter conditions, fly seasons, and wet and muddy conditions can make outdoor board challenging for both horses and their owners.
At Sagehill Stables we have heard your concerns, and have created a new boarding option to help horse owners provide a more flexible living arrangement for their loved one. Cross-Over Board is intended for those boarders who would like to have the option to board their horse inside during the harsh winter and outside during our beautiful summer months. Boarders get access to their stall year round for tack-up and in case of indoor boarding needed due to poor weather conditions, show preparation, muddy paddocks, fly season or injury, for example. In the harsh winter months, feel comforted knowing your horse is being fed supplement and boarded inside overnight, also making it easier on you when you come to ride! In the summer months, have the option to keep your horse outside in a healthy herd environment, enjoying being a horse!

Amenities:
- Year round access to one of our majestic 10 x 12 soft stalls
- 6 months indoor board, November 1st to April 30th (tack locker, 1 lb Grow n' Win, daily group turnout handwalked in and out)
- 6 months outdoor board, May 1st to October 31st (tack locker, group turnout with access to pasture)
- Option to indoor board your horse during the fall, spring and summer months due to inclement weather, injury, etc. at a minimal rate
- Option to leave horse outside during the winter months for a reduction off your board!
- blanketing and individual turnout available for additional fee
All boarders will have access to the two indoor riding arenas and the beautiful riding trails along the La Salle River.
Note: Barn is heated to a max of 5 degrees Celsius in the winter months to keep temperature differences between inside and outside at a minimal, to ensure best health for your horse.

LEASE PROGRAM
Sagehill Stables offers you the opportunity to get your board costs lower than at other facilities, with the opportunity to get money back towards tack, farrier and extra feed costs as well!
We encourage and help all boarders at Sagehill Stables find part-boarders for their horse.
Leasing your horse, either a quarter-lease (6 rides per month) or part-lease (12 rides per month), can provide you with the financial flexibility you need to ensure you and your horse are receiving all the care and comforts you desire, while providing another avid horse lover with the opportunity to learn and grow with a horse!
The fact is, most people do not have time to visit and ride their horse more than 2 to 3 times per week. Life today is busy, people are commuting, volunteering, involved in other activities and sports, and have busy family lives. However, horses are athletic animals who need daily care and exercise. If you are not interested in purchasing a pampered horse or training package offered by Sagehill Stables to ensure that your horse is getting cared for daily, leasing is the right option for you.
In fact, leasing your horse means that your board costs can be much lower than other facilities! Leasing also ensures your horse is getting extra care, attention and exercise at no cost to you.
We help all boarders find lessees when requested and ensure a good match is found. Boarder's have control in who leases, what is allowed to be done in practice rides, as well as, will receive monthly updates from coaches on the progress of your horse and lessee!
For a quarter lease get 1/4 of your board money back in your pocket, and for a part lease get 1/2 your board money back! You also have the opportunity to get money back towards tack, extra feed and farrier costs!
