How to Book a Practice Ride
If you are a leaser, or have accumulated enough volutneer hours for a practice ride, here's what to do:
Practice rides need to be scheduled at least 24 hrs in advance so that we can confirm with you that it works. If you don't hear from us, assume that it is OK to come, and your horse will be assigned when the lesson horse assignments are done for the day. You can book your practice ride when a lesson is on in the arena. Remember to ride respectfully when in a lesson, and ask the coach for advice on where the best place is to ride.
- Log-in to equine office at equineoffice.io
- Select view calendar. I suggest to click on the "week" view
- Find the day you want to book your practice ride. Click on an empty spot on the calendar on that day (don't worry we'll change the time in the next step). A pop-up screen that says "you are adding an event" will pop up.
- Select Practice Ride as the Section. Don't set your time until the section has been set.
- Select the time for your ride. Remember to just book your riding time, and plan to come 30 minutes in advance to catch your horse and tack-up. You can book a practice ride anytime between 9am and 9pm, even if there is a lesson on in the arena(s). Check the schedule for private arena bookings (like at 3 to 4pm in Jan, Feb and March arena 2 is closed, however, you can ride in arena 1 during this time).
- For the Title, you can leave it as the default Practice Ride or edit it to put your name and horse
- For the Staff, leave it as the default Practice Ride.
- For the Location, leave it as the default Practice Ride 1. If it is not available (i.e., someone else is practice riding at that time), select Practice Ride 2 or 3 instead.
- In the notes section, if you are a leaser, write your lease horse name. If you are not leasing and booking a volunteer hour practice ride, please list the top 2 or 3 horses you would like to ride.
- Click save event.
